Wedding - Our Minster

Rev. Eric Hoffman, M.A. was ordained as a minister in the Swedenborgian tradition in 1992.  Since then he has served two parishes on a full time basis and as a regular visiting minister for two others.

As environmental education is dear to his heart, he has also served as the full time Education Curator in a zoo.

He has officiated approximately 400 wedding ceremonies and sees each one as a creative endeavor.

“My goal for our weddings at the Virginia Street Church is to build each one as a personal expression of the couple.  Our church does not insist on one particular ceremony, since no two relationships celebrate exactly the same thing.  I love to look for the particular blessings of each relationship, and then find ways of expressing these in the ceremony.  My hope is that each ceremony is a unique experience, personally meaningful for each and every person.”

The Virginia Street Church sees its service to people in relationship as a ministry, not as a business.  Because we see spiritual and religious diversity as a blessing, we welcome people of all faiths and seek ways to honor the faith of each person in our ceremonies without seeking to “convert” anyone.
